Welcome!. This Web site was originally developed by Dr. Andi Hoffman's fall 2007 Contemporary Health Issues class and will be maintaned and improved each semester by students in McDaniel's Exercise Science and Physical Education Program..

I. Weight Training

Interested in developing a stronger & more healthy body? Our weight training program is here to help! We can help asses you current level of physical fitness and get you on your way to achieving your self-declared fitness goals. II. Walking

Walking is an easy way to incorporate exercise into your every day life. Our major goal is to increase the activity level of the people in the McDaniel community. III. Cardiovascular

The best way to increase your overall health and quality of life is to increase your cardiovascular fitness.  Get started today by reading through this section that will give you a thorough understanding of “cardio” and how you can start improving your cardio fitness.  This section will give you great information such as the definition of cardiovascular fitness, the guidelines of a cardio program, the components of cardiovascular exercise, different types of cardio exercises available in Merritt Fitness Center, how to get started, and how to track your progress.  However, before you decide you start a cardio program or use a cardio machine you should take this questionnaire called a PAR-Q that assures you are healthy enough to start and will encounter no difficulties. IV. Nutrition

When it comes to your overall health, exercise is just not enough. You should ask yourself do you have a balanced nutrition?  The answer may be no or it may be just okay. Then we have just the information to help. Our goal is to supply you with the proper elements necessary to successfully eat a healthier diet and improve your lifestyle.
