Physical Education Lesson Plans

Here is a list of websites that provide useful lesson plans for Physical Education class:

1)   PE Central: This is a great website for PE teachers. It has various categories including grade levels, special occasions, and specific units. It will also provide the suggested grade level for the activity or lesson so you are not taking grade 3-5 activities and trying them out in high school. It also provides field day lesson plans which are always a big thing for students. I will use this site for sure when writing up lesson plans and even if I want a random new activity to do.

2)   The Lessons Plan Page: This website has lesson plans from K-12. Each lesson plan is very specific and professionally done. It provides goals, objectives, materials, and modifications. I am very impressed with this website and the lesson plans I found. Instead of just providing a summary of game play, it breaks it down very specifically and clearly. I am very excited about using this site as well.

These are all submitted lesson plans created by a teacher or professor. They provide all the essentials for an excellent lesson plan. Appropriate grade level, procedure, assessment, and additional comments about the lesson to make it user friendly for all.

4)   The Educator’s Reference Desk: There are six categories to choose from: games, motor skills, skill related, gymnastics, outdoor education, and team sports. Each category offers many lessons to choose from that build upon specific skills, team play, or learning of rules. This may be the best site I found so far. Very professional and easy to understand what was created and the purpose behind it.
