Instructional Web Activity
Introduction: I chose two search engines for my query in the
science curriculum area for intermediate and middle school students. The
engines I used are Ask Jeeves
and Yahoo. My search was very productive and following
are five sites that I choose based on usefulness and quality.
Lesson Plans Page -
contains science lesson plans for grade levels preschool up through high
school. Plans include experiments and basic principles are touched on. Very easy
to navigate.

A to Z Teacherstuff –253 lessons are found here in grades PreK up through grade 12.
Lessons are categorized into grade level. Material lists, plan and a printer
friendly icon is available for teacher use.

Lesson Factory – selective, but still useful. Gives the author.
Location and e-mail address for each plan that has been submitted. Lesson plan
information includes subject, sub-category, description, grade level, duration,
goals, objectives, and resources needed. Teacher assessment is also provided.

Science
Junction - a cyber-space
connection from the North Carolina State University. May require adjusting of
curriculum outcomes. Teachers are able to explore the resources that the
Internet supplies. Select from Life Sciences, Earth and Space Sciences,
Chemistry, and Physics.

Discovery School – indicates grade level, subject, and duration of the lesson. Each
lesson provides objectives, material list, procedures, adaptations, discussion
questions, evaluation, extensions, suggestive reading, Internet links, and a
vocabulary list with sound to hear the word pronounced and used properly in a
sentence.
