
INTRODUCTION:
Lewis and Clark are two important explorers.
They traveled throughout the United States of America in uncharted
territory. On their journey they saw
many new things and met many new people.
They were brave and courageous.
They helped to form our history.
ACTIVITY:
Lewis and Clark kept a journal of their experiences. That is why we know so
much about them. You will join Lewis and Clark on their travels across this
great land of ours. You will join Lewis and Clark on their travels across this
great land of ours. On your journey you will see many of the sights they saw,
meet some of the people they met, and experience some of the things they
experienced. At times, the explorers had to stop the journey because of
difficult situations or circumstances. You have the opportunity to help Lewis
and Clark make some important decisions that will help them decide what to do
when trouble strikes. Will you advise the two explorers to continue with their
path or stop and wait for another time? Get ready to be the captain of this
expedition!

will look to the side bar to find a link that reads “Into the Unknown”. Click on this link. Begin reading. As you use the cursor to scroll down you will come upon words in
the text that have a different color and are underlined.
When you
click on these special words new pictures will appear so you can see what Lewis
and Clark may have seen. At the bottom
of each journal page, you will be asked a question. Select your best answer and continue to the next pages. At the end of your journey, you will be
given the option to print this journey you have just taken. You will print your page and turn it in to
your teacher. Finally, you will choose
a way to represent the information you just learned. Your choices are:

Design
a pictorial representation of the hardships the explorers endured on the
journey. For example, start at the
beginning and list all the events having occurred that made the journey
dangerous and hard. A timeline is a great
way to accomplish this task, or a picture book with captions. This site will give you an example of what a
timeline looks like. You can print this
