          The following websites provide the elementary school teacher with several free worksheets for use when teaching a course on money.  Most of the websites have worksheets that can be printed, while two are interactive sites in which the students can interactively complete the worksheet.

 

Money Worksheets

 

This site provides worksheets on a variety of topics related to money.  These topics include counting money, adding money, subtracting money and rounding to the nearest dollar.  Several academic levels are available for most worksheet topics.

Worksheets to Go – Worksheet Generator

 

This site allows one to generate several types of worksheets that include information the user provides.  The types of worksheets that can be created are:  fill in the blank, word scramble, matching and multiple choices.  This site would be very helpful in teaching money vocabulary.  Some worksheets are pre-made and available for printing, however they address several math subjects, but do not include money.

A+ Math Worksheets:  Money

 

This site also allows one to generate worksheets.  These worksheets are solely for calculating the amount of money shown.  One can choose the number of problems per worksheet, ranging from 10 to 50.  Also, the money shown is photographs of actual U.S. currency.

A+ Math Worksheets:  Money-- Interactive

Counting Money

 

Three versions of a worksheet are available at this site.  Each worksheet requires the student to read a sum of money, in English (no currency is shown) and then fill in the blanks to make an equivalent amount, given certain coins.  This link goes directly to the first version.

Beginning Money Worksheets

 

Fifteen different worksheets are available to print at the beginning level.  The worksheets range from identifying and counting coins to estimating and adding prices.  Many of these worksheets include colorful graphics.

Intermediate Money Worksheets

 

Provided by the same organization as the above mentioned beginning worksheets, this site enables the user to print worksheets in the areas of money addition, money division and money multiplication.  There are 25 worksheets available in each of these three categories.  These worksheets are at an intermediate level.

Find the Value – Coin Recognition Worksheet

 

A multiple choice worksheet, the student must identify and add a collection of coins and then pick the correct corresponding answer.  Drawings of coins are provided.  This worksheet would be appropriate for primary elementary school students.

Change It! 

 

This is an interactive worksheet that allows the teacher to select the number of problems and the number of each type of coin to be included in the problems.  The student is required to count and add the coins and indicate the amount.  The answers are then provided.

Shopping with Money

 

This is a worksheet that shows several items for sale and their corresponding prices.  Word problems ask the student various questions about purchasing the items in a variety of combinations.  The answers are provided at the bottom of the page.
