Elective #8 – Newsletters for Jody Welin

Lesson Plans- This newsletter is just plain awesome! It gives teachers a ton of information and resources. EducationWorld.com provides you with links to recently submitted lesson plans. They give you a brief statement about the lesson plan so you can see if the plan is right for your area of content and grade level. The first 2 lesson plans in this issue give ideas to keep students and teachers sane for the last couple weeks of school. It gives us things to do that are fun but still educational. Following the featured lesson plans are numerous other plans that cover all content areas. This newsletter also offers links to other resources like tech tips, teacher tools, website reviews, chats, & surveys. There are probably 30 different links for teachers to explore. I recommend that every teacher subscribe to this newsletter. I plan on keeping this subscription up and running!!

Educational Humor – This newsletter is set up the same as the Lesson Plan newsletter. They both have 2 advertisers listed before getting to the content of the newsletter. They also have an advertisement at the end of the newsletter for another one of the other free newsletters they provide. They ask that you pass this information on to other teachers. The Humor newsletter is made to be light and funny. It provides us with G rated humor about school/educational situations. In this issue there were 2 stories that put a smile on my face. The first reminds me of the reasons why I am a teacher and the second is a cute story about solving discipline problems. This newsletter will help us all keep our mental sanity. It is important to have a laugh every once in awhile so we don’t forget the positives in our lives. The only recommendation I have for this newsletter is to provide more – more jokes and stories per issue.
