Web Dropin #4 for Jody Welin
Introduction: There are
billions of different opinions in the world. Individuals are able to decide for
themselves how they feel about a situation, what things they like and dislike,
and how they should live their lives. As an individual, you also have that
right. When someone has an opinion, they are able to defend their views by
giving the reasons why they think/feel a certain way.
Assignment: You are going to have the opportunity to read
other people’s opinions on the book Holes by Louis Sachar and give your
own. Visit the following websites and
read the student book reviews provided.
The first website is
Building Rainbows.com and has 1 review by a student named Brendan. http://www.buildingrainbows.com/bookreview/holes/9546
The second website is
Reading Matters and it has 3 reviews written by students. You have to scroll
down past the synopsis of the book to find the reviews, at the bottom of the
page.
http://www.readingmatters.co.uk/book.php?id=84
Activity: Now that you have read the reviews, compare and
contrast them. Write a summary of how each child felt about the book and tell
how their reviews were similar and/or different from each other. Then write your own personal review of the
book. Do you feel the same as the any of the other students or do you feel
differently?
Please turn in your
assignment to be graded.
