Teacher Sites Elective

Ms. Robert’s Classroom -http://hometown.aol.com/lteach6thgrade/MsRobertsclassroomindex.html

This teacher teaches 6th grade, and seems to be using this site mostly for sharing student work.

Commendations

ü    She has wonderful clip art, especially the animated pictures.

ü    She has good links set up to the home page, so it would be easy to go from her web page to the school’s main page.

ü    I think it is wonderful that she is using the webpage to share student work, because I think students would really be motivated to try to get their work on the web.

Recommendations

ü    She doesn’t include any information on what she teaches, or what subjects are taught in the class.

ü    I think she should have more student work included. There is only one poem, and I think it would have been nice to have had at least a few poems on the site, if not the whole class.

ü    There isn’t any contact information for the teacher—it would be nice to have an email address or phone extension for easy access to communicate with her.

Mrs. Cheves’ Web Page - http://www.butts.k12.ga.us/hms/cheves_c/index.htm

This page is for a teacher of gifted students in the middle school.

Commendations

ü    She has a variety of links, from the calendar to a web quest.

ü    It is easy to navigate from one link to another, as she has a navigation bar on each page.

ü    She has some really creative ideas and projects on her web page!

ü    She shares student work in her student publishing link—I like to see that!

Recommendations

ü    I think the topics on her home page could be organized a little better, to make it quicker and easier for a student or parent to find what they are looking for.

ü    It has so many links that it seems a bit overwhelming at first (especially for a student). Maybe again, the organizing could help with that, because it would seem a little more condensed with headings.

ü    Some of the links took a while to load, because there is so much information to load. Especially the page with student publishing-I think it is creative and neat, but it may not be too good for the computer system to download that much material.
