Lori Van Order – SLM521 – Summer 2003
Core
Knowledge Lesson Plans – This website is specific toward the grade
level you choose, and it offers a variety of topics on that grade level. Also,
they are not organized by subject, so it might take a while to look through to
find the topic you are searching for, but there is still quite a good variety
to choose from. http://www.coreknowledge.org/CKproto2/resrcs/lessons/3.htm
Sequenced Lesson Plans
- (Georgia Department of
Education)—This site offers sequenced lessons for any grade level. You
can click on third grade in the topics Math, Social Studies, and Language Arts.
Since the lessons are all organized in sequential order, it would be a great guide for any new
teacher to follow.

EdHelper.com – This website
is great for any teacher looking for lesson plans! There is a place to click on
the grade level you are searching for, and then it gives a variety of topics to
match that grade level. A great source for teachers!

EdCen.com – This website offers a
variety of topics at a variety of grade levels. A nice thing about this site is
that it is organized by curriculum topics. It gives many resources, but it would take a while to weed
through all the plans to find the ones specific to third grade.

Education World
– This is an excellent source for teachers. There are a variety of topics
listed, but you can also do your own search. The only tough part is, again,
that you need to weed through the activities to find the grade level. But I
still think it is a very helpful site to find something by topic.

AskERIC – This site
lists topics to search for lesson plans. I think it would be a great site for
teachers to find background information on any topic, but I think it is
difficult to find specific grade level material.

Technology
Plans – This website offers some good lessons for teaching technology
in the third grade classroom. This would be a great source for me, as I am the
teacher for our computer lab time. http://prometheus.educ.ncat.edu/dpi/samples/third_grade_lesson_plans.htm
Michigan
Lesson Plans – This site offers lesson plans organized by grade level
and subject. It would be very easy to look for a lesson plan on a specific
topic. It also shows how their curriculum is broken down into topic
areas—a great source for beginning teachers without a structured
curriculum to follow. Be careful to click on the topics below the box, not in
the box, when you get to the first page from this link.

Joyce
Alliance - This site appears to be a work in progress, but I’d like to keep it as a link to check
it out as she adds more materials. I like what she has so far, some excellent
lesson plans for third grade, and hope to find more links when I visit again!

Third Grade Teacher Tips –
A super site full of great tips for third grade teachers. I had to add this as
a source, because just looking over it I’ve already learned some great
techniques to use in my classroom instruction. I am sure I will be visiting
this site for more tips!
