Stacy Ukishima – Clipart Elective
June 22, 2003

This site offers
free clipart divided into categories. It
has both photographs and animated clipart, and the site also has a keyword
search so you can find particular items faster. For a fee, you can become a member and gain access to additional
clipart. The clipart itself is fairly
basic, but there are a few cute ones such as the crayon box above.

This collection of
clipart is offered through Google.com, and contains a huge collection of
clipart and photographs. It also has an
“Advanced Image Search,” where you can enter exact phrases, narrow your search
down by size of the image, color of the image (black & white, color,
etc.,), and even request a “SafeSearch” filter. I searched for clipart using the keyword “Hawaii” and this site
returned with 453,000 choices, including the one above!

This is a good
site as it has a special “school zone” section with some cute clipart. It also offers worksheets, coloring sheets,
puzzles and even a certificate maker.

#1 Free Clip
Art
As the title
claims, this site offers 10,000 free clipart images divided into a 300 categories,
including medicine, military, nature and cartoons.

This site offers
some unique – and odd – clipart, such as the bull rider above. It is not the easiest site to navigate, but
offers animation as well as clipart and backgrounds. Where else could you find clipart of a “fish on jet ski” along
with a “man riding barracuda?”

Kids Domain –
Clipart
(How
cute!)
This was one of my
favorite clipart sites. It offered
clipart geared toward children (with really well drawn images), and had all
sorts of categories ranging from father’s day to animals and Kwanzaa. It also promoted other clipart sites by
providing links to other free clipart sites – too bad I didn’t notice this
little feature before I searched all over the Web for free clipart for this
assignment!

This site offers clipart images
as well as arrows, bullets, buttons and animation that would be useful for
designing a web site. It had a fairly
large collection with some cute clipart.
You can also become a member, for a fee, and gain access to additional
clipart. The only aspect to this site
that I did not like is that it seemed as though several pop-ups came up each
time I logged on to the site.

This is another one of my
favorite sites because the clipart includes multicultural students and
teachers. It also claims that it will
create clipart for you for free if you fill out the clipart request form linked
to their site.

Teachers created this
site for other teachers and for parents.
It includes some original clipart as well as lesson plans, virtual field
trips, and links to other sites. It has
free songs, book activities and thematic units for teachers to utilize in the
classroom.
