A Graph
Introduction:
Title IX, a
landmark piece of legislation, was enacted in 1972 to guarantee equal rights
between men and women participating in collegiate sports. Because of this Act, women were finally
given equal opportunity and funding to fulfill their athletic dreams.
Activity:
Students are to go
to the following website, review the language on Title IX, and complete the
following assignment. Following the
literature on Title IX, this site offers a graph that compares women’s participation
in sports before and after Title IX’s passage.
