Fantasy Football/Yahoo Games
I am playing in a fantasy football league with some friends and also some guys that I do not know. I am a manger of my own team and get to choose who to play from week to week. There is a draft at the beginning of the season, in which I pre-ranked the players that I wanted on my team. The computer then does the draft based on the rankings that every player has selected. Each time my turn is up, the computer will select the first person on my list that it comes to and place him on my team. You are allowed only so many players on your team and in a particular position. The commissioner of the team sets the point total for each statistical category in the game. Players then earn points based upon their performance on the field each Sunday.
Each week, I am pitted against another player in the league in a head to head battle. This means that his players point earnings against my players points earnings decides who wins the game for the week by having the higher point total. There are seventeen weeks in the season, and we just finished week eight where I find myself in tenth place out of twelve teams. I have had a run of bad luck with players getting injured and therefore my substitute players are inadequate compared to the players I drafted. The top eight teams in our division make the playoffs in our league. I actually won last week and am looking forward to possibly winning two weeks in a row which I have not done yet this year.
I am very
into this game and stay up to date with statistics of the players that I have
as well as those players that are free agents and are available to me. It’s a very competitive game and adds a lot
more fun to watching the NFL on Sundays as I have a stake in most games now,
instead of just cheering for my favorite team.
I understand why these games are addicting because I love sports and the
chance to manage a team of professional players is a dream most would like to
have. http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/show?page=leaguehome&lid=106095
I am the underachievers. That is my team
name and as you can see it describes my team very well.
