The Dairy of a Wimpy Kid

Activity 1

Note to Teachers:

This lesson is constructed for students in fourth grade that are learning about using the internet in their everyday life.  This is the first of five total assignments that will be completed.  These activities will be geared towards the subjects of English and technology.

Lesson

Students all over the world face similar problems that you face in this vary classroom, everyday.  You worry about what kinds of clothes you are wear, whether Joe wants to be your friend, or if anyone else has to spend the weekend with their Dad in a different town.  For this assignment we are going to take a look at The Dairy of a Wimpy Kid.  I am sure that you will find that your life is not much different then those of the people around you or even in other parts of the state, country or world.

For this assignment I would like you to read three days of journal entries from The Dairy of a Wimpy Kid.  I would also like you to do a little research on blogging.  I have a few questions that I would like you to answer.    In the future we will be setting up a blog for our classroom and each one of us will be able to write about what we encountered that day at school.
