States of Matter
Introduction:
What is classified as matter? If you answer anything and everything that takes
up space, then you’re correct. Matter can be found in three basic states,
meaning there are three different ways that matter can exist. The three ways
are solid, liquid, and gas.

A solid is
when matter is in a definite volume and a definite shape. An example would be a
piece of wood.
A liquid is
when matter has a fixed volume, but doesn’t have a fixed shape. An example
would be water.
A gas is
when matter doesn’t have a fixed volume or a fixed shape. An example would be steam.
Now that you
have some basic information about the three types of matter, please watch the
video of Tim
and Moby with regards to the states of matter.
After
watching the video make sure to take the quiz and email the results to Ms.
Staub.
