Internet Etiquette or Netiquette

Objective:

Students will demonstrate understanding of proper internet etiquette or netiquette.

Introduction:

The evolution of the internet, www and e-mail has spawned a new dilemma.  The new dilemma revolves around proper etiquette or netiquette when communicating with other individuals.  The unlimited access to the net has created a feeling within many people the internet is a right not a privilege.  This could not be further from the truth and we as users must not lose sight of the fact the internet is a privilege and should be treated as such.  It is very easy to get caught up in doing things or saying things on the internet that you would never say or do to a person in public.  This is where internet etiquette or netiquette comes into play.  The internet and www contain a wealth of information for educating users about proper etiquette or netiquette.  This activity will help you to find various sites to access information on proper etiquette or netiquette.
