Easy to Use Worksheets, Puzzles, and Resources

 

Busy Teacher’s Café – This website is outstanding for elementary school teachers.  Worksheets to assist with reading comprehension, daily journal writing prompts, math practice, and graphic organizers are all available.  Many of the sheets can be customized before printing them out, to make sure that you get exactly what you need.  Common forms used everyday by teachers such as lesson plan templates can be printed.  You will find exactly what you need on this wonderful site for teachers!  Date visited: 6/8/06

abcteach – This site contains many free worksheets and templates for teachers.  Access clip art, worksheets for math, reading, and writing, as well as flash cards or word wall cards.  A fun activities section allows you to create your own word searches and games, or print out an existing game.  Although some sections are for members only, you will be able to access plenty of free activities and sheets to keep you busy.  Date visited: 6/8/06

multiplication.com – Just as the name implies, this website offers tools for teachers and students specifically intended to help students learn multiplication facts.  Print flash cards for students to use.  Timed fact tests are available to teachers accompanied by answer keys.  Pre and post tests are also available.  Date visited: 6/8/06

Puzzlemaker – This site is so easy to use and will help you create games and puzzles to accompany your curriculum.  Choose the type of puzzle you would like to create.  Options include cryptograms, word searches, math squares, mazes, and much more.  Follow step-by-step directions for the information to be included in your puzzle.  Then, let the computer do the rest.  A puzzle will be ready for you within seconds.  Date visited: 6/8/06

Kid Zone Grade 3 – This site contains worksheets available for third grade teachers to print and use.  Particularly useful are the handwriting tracer pages and the printable Dolch list cards.  Students can make mini books using these reproducibles as well.  Date visited: 6/8/06

A to Z Teacher Stuff – This site includes a variety of resources for teachers.  For worksheets and activities visit the “Teacher Tools” link as well as the “Printables and Worksheets” link.  One particularly useful feature is the ‘Word Shape Generator’.  Simply type in spelling words and a worksheet will be created with the letter shapes.  You can easily make word searches and crossword puzzles as well.  Date visited: 6/8/06

CyberSleuth Kids – This site is primarily organized as a search engine for kids, but great resources for teachers are also available.  At the bottom of the page, a link for math worksheets is available.  You can access worksheets for any math topic including basic computation, number patterns, rounding, geometry, and much more.  Pre-made crossword puzzles may also be of interest for teachers.  Date visited: 6/8/06

Kids Page Archive – This is one of the simplest websites to navigate and contains many great worksheets for many different levels.  I thought that this site had excellent activities that could be used in centers.  The index is located across the side of the screen.  Click on the subject of the activity you are searching for.  A very extensive collection for each subject is available.  Sheets are easy to print out and are really excellent activities.  Date visited: 6/8/06

Teachnology – The “Time Savers” section of this Teachnology website is fantastic for teachers.  A group grabber gives ways to divide you class into groups.  Or, try the contacting home section for printables and tips to get in touch with parents.  You could build your own rubric for grading student work.  Using this site will definitely be a time saver in the long run.  Date visited: 6/8/06

SuperKids – It is extremely easy to create math worksheets using SuperKids.  Simply select the type of math being studied.  Then answer a few questions and your worksheet will be built in no time.  Answer keys are also available.  Print worksheets for free to use with students.  Date visited: 6/8/06
