Newsletters
Linda’s Links to Literature newsletter is a free monthly newsletter
with information on new links to her website.
This month’s newsletter had links to several summer reading lists, a
link to Eric Carle’s home page as well as links to sample lessons for his books
that are on the subscription portion of the website, and a link to generic book
discussion starters. The LLL site brings
together activities that are posted on the web and organizes them by book
title. A teacher looking for a lesson on
a particular book will find a large number of links to activities without
having to search the web themselves. The
newsletter is a small sample of what is offered at the site and is valuable to
anyone thinking of subscribing that wants to look at the highlights first. I would recommend it to someone under those
circumstances, but I found the website to be more useful than the newsletter. http://www.lindaslinkstoliterature.com/lll/newsletter.htm
Education World Reviews Newsletter is a weekly newsletter
containing reviews of several educational web sites. The first portion of the newsletter contained
ads for sponsors. This weeks issue
contained three reviews. For each site the
URL is given along with the intended grade level, a letter grade and a few sentences
for content and site design, the review and links to any other related reviews. There is also a picture of the main page for
each site. The information is very clear
and helpful with regards to the reviewed sites.
All three of the site received A+ for content and site design and were
recommended. Having viewed the archives
for 2005, all sites reviewed were given grades of A or A+ with one exception (B+.) This newsletter is a useful tool for locating
quality educational websites. http://www.educationworld.com/maillist.shtml#reviews
