Introduction
As a physical education teacher using
the internet is a great tool. There are
many websites on the internet that are very useful for physical education
teachers. You can find neat new ideas
for games and activities to use in your class.
There are lots of websites to get the history and drills for different
sports to use as well. In Internet
Explorer there is a great feature called Favorites and this is where you can
store all those useful and great websites on physical education. Using the Favorites feature allows you to
access those websites in a quick and easy way.
You can even separate them into folders so you could have a folder on
lesson plans and only websites related to that would be in there. It is a great
tool to use and not many people take advantage of it.
Activities
As you surf the web and you come across
a great website that you would use again store it in your favorites. Be sure to organize the websites into folders
to make it easily understandable and quicker to find the site you are looking
for the next time you want to go there.
Here’s how to use Favorites:
Ø
First
click on the favorites button on the tool bar at the
top of Internet Explorer.
Ø
You
will then see a section appear on the left side of the screen in Internet
Explorer.

Click
on the button that says Organize and then click on the button that says Create
New Folder.

box on the left side of your screen.

the website by typing the URL in the address box.
Ø
Now
click on the Add button, the website you want to save will appear in the box
that says Name.
Ø
To
place the website in a specific folder click on Create In and then select the
folder and hit the Ok button.
Ø
The
website will now be placed in the folder for easy access.
Assignments
Create 5 folders that you want in your
Favorites related to physical education.
In each folder I want you to find at least 5 websites. For example, the name of my folder is Soccer
and in that folder I have 5 websites that are related to soccer like the
history or drills. Once you do that I
want you to make an organized table in Word that shows me the 5 folder names
and the websites for folder. You can put
the title of the webpage and then hyperlink them so that I can visit those
sites.
Submission
After creating your table in Word,
please email it to your instructor as a file attachment.
