Podcasts
Brief Summary
The three podcasts I am monitoring are Meet the Author, National Public Radio: Books, and National Public Radio: Fresh Air. In this assignment, I have discovered an awesome world of radio that I have been away from for several years. My parents were big radio lovers, but I hadnÕt gotten into any programs until I discovered podcasts. Simply – theyÕre AWESOME. I can listen to them at a time of my choosing, while making dinner, while grading papers, while working on the Internet for this course. One convenient aspect of ITunes is that they add episodes as they become available. Also, I can place them on my IPod and listen to them in my car or during my planning period while I am working. I canÕt believe I havenÕt been accessing this before now. There is so much good stuff in the ITunes Store that it is almost overwhelming, but itÕs like an overwhelming candy store. IÕm loving it.
Educational Podcasts
Here are just a few of the podcasts I could use in my English 10 classroom. I can use them as I described above: I can download them to my IPod and hook the Ipod up to speakers at school
1. Meet the Author
2. NPR: Books
3. Great Books: A Chapter a Day (wonderful!)
4. The Washington Post Book World
5. NPR: Fresh Air
