COUNTDOWN TO NUCLEAR DEVASTATION:
CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS

At this point in our Cold War unit we have reached the highest tension
that ever existed between the United States
and the Soviet Union. Click on the following links and read
about the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Take notes on what you feel are the major events and turning points of
the crisis and when they happened chronologically. After viewing your notes, click on the
missile below and print out the chart.
There are four spaces in the chart that you will fill in. I want you to fill in the top box with
which side, the US or Soviet Union, you believe benefited the most from the
result of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
In the other three boxes, I want you to write the three top reasons for
your conclusion based on your reading and notes. We will get together in groups tomorrow
to analyze your conclusions.
