DEBATE ON VIETNAM
The Vietnam War was arguably
the most controversial event of the Cold War for the United States. The debate over why the United States fought
there and the legality of the war remains strong even today. In light of recent events unfolding in Iraq, the debate over Vietnam has surfaced again and will
continue to surface. This is the
perfect opportunity to read and understand the many different points of view
regarding the Vietnam War. How do
you feel about the war in Vietnam? What do you know already about the
debate? How did you form your
opinion? These are some questions
to ask yourself before getting started.
Click on the links below and read about some of the opinions and individual
experiences surrounding this debate.
After reading, write a 500 word essay on the strengths and weaknesses of
both sides of the argument.
Although your opinion is personal and confidential, I would like you to
explain if this exercise has either changed your point of view or made it
stronger.
