strategies.

Ed Helper-Phonics Worksheets- Ed-Helper is one of the best resources for free
worksheets available online! The phonics section is especially helpful. It ties
in perfectly with some of the Words Their Way spelling instruction we do in 2nd
grade.

TEACH-NOLOGY-
Language Arts Worksheets –This
site is another really comprehensive database of printable worksheets for
various subjects and grade levels. However, for 2nd grade, I think
that the Language Arts section is one of the most helpful areas of the site
because it has worksheets that deal with 2nd grade reading
comprehension skills such as sequencing. It also has links to entire units!

Super Teacher
Worksheets- This site provides a cross-curricular database of free printable
resources, but the section that I think is most valuable for 2nd grade
teachers is the reading section. These worksheets are general reading skills
that could be applied to any text: ie- book reviews
and worksheets that could be used as literature circle/guided reading
extensions and seatwork.

For a low fee:
Teacher
Vision- This
website does charge a membership of $39.95 a year, but as a paying member, I
will say that I think that the resources provided on the site are worth the
fee. This site also provides a 7 day free trial as well as three free printable
worksheets for anyone who might be interested in becoming a member. This site
has printable worksheets on all subjects categorized and searchable by subject
and grade level. One of the sections I find most helpful is the printable
materials on grammar. This website also lets you preview the worksheets and
shows you the books they came from, in case you want to purchase the entire
book.

Reading A-Z- This is another membership
based website, but this site has guided reading books for every reading level…
from A-Z! The books are easy to access and print, and students really enjoy
having a copy of a book to take home. If you are currently an elementary teacher,
check with your principal- your school might already have a subscription to
this amazing resource of printable books!

Math:
Math Cafe- This website offers free
printable math worksheets for teachers, searchable by grade level or math skill.
The section on time and money is particularly helpful for 2nd grade.
You can also create your own fact worksheets.

Kidzone-Math
Activity Worksheets-
The kidzone website has worksheets to go with every
unit, but some of the best worksheets are available on the math worksheets
page. The page is color coded by concept and organized by difficulty of skill
and grade level. Plus, for each worksheet, you can even choose the theme: farm,
jungle or ocean.

A-Z
Teacher Stuff-Math Worksheets- This website is another one that has various
printable worksheets across content areas, however, the math section is most
helpful because it covers a lot of 2nd grade content like patterns,
are and perimeter.

Math Playground- This site provides more great math worksheets listed by content and grade
level. You can build your own worksheet

and Science:
Scholastic News-
This website provides
follow-up activities for scholastic news articles. What is helpful about this
site it that if you don’t have a subscription to scholastic news, you can have
students read articles on this website and then do the printed follow-up
quizzes and worksheets.

Enchanted
Learning- This is a wonderful database
which provides a vast array of printable worksheets for teachers. However,
registration is required at a $20.00 yearly fee. The weather section is
particularly helpful for the 2nd grade science curriculum.

ABC Teach- This site is a great resources for all subject areas, but the science and social
studies areas are most helpful for 2nd grade teachers because of the
curricular connections- especially in the areas of earth, plants and animals. There
