As I was finishing the last game of Mah Jong, my husband entered the office and gave me the ‘parent’ speech that it was time to stop and playing and get some work completed. Needless to say, I am addicted to Mah Jong, the game of matching tiles that are set up in different formations. Some have as little as 144 tiles; others have as many as 515 tiles.
Having first started with Yahoo games, I was disappointed that no one wanted to play Euchre with me. I tried to wait and see if someone would join me. Then I played against the computer. Then I tried to invite some of the other players to join me but I got no response. Maybe I don’t know how to enter a game correctly. I also played Wheel of Fortune and was disappointed that one of the times I knew the answer it wouldn’t accept my answer. But all in all, I spent too much time with this assignment and needed to do other ones.
I have also link up with the Comcast site with our server, and that is the place where Mah Jong sucked me in. It even has my 6-year-old son sucked in. He sat on the desk and was pointing out matches for me. He also got the concept quickly and what I meant when I said that a tile was ‘locked in’. Thank goodness our trial period ran out and I may still be on the computer trying every formation possible.
In addition, I have played Collapse, a game of blasting 3 or more blocks of like color through my Yahoo messenger while listening to the Launchcast radio, just for a break when grading online assignments. An addiction as well for me.
I enjoyed the games and will play them from time to time, but life to me isn’t about your high score with a game, but in life. I want a high score from my children and husband so it becomes necessary to walk away from the computer games.
