Newsletters

I started to check
out some sites and decided to divide my interests between my subject area and
library media.
Education World
offers a multitude of research, information, classroom tools, subject
resources, reference centers (for competitions, etc.), article archives, and
specialties, as well as numerous newsletters the user can subscribe to. I chose
to receive a weekly newsletter, lesson plans, and education humor. My only fear
is that this newsletter will cater to the elementary grades more than the upper
grades – but it seemed to have a varied selection in the preview sections. I
really want to be able to integrate much more technology into my classroom. We
are currently in the middle of a building project. The plan is to have a small
computer center in each classroom, to allow the teacher to integrate technology
into that room and his/her lessons. I plan to utilize this to its fullest
potential!
This is the second
time I’ve subscribed to School Library Journal! I liked it the first and
thought I’d give it another try. It caters, not only, to the librarian, but to
the classroom teacher as well. It is chocked full of ideas, reviews, book of
the week picks, news and resources relevant to you in your state, and career
news. Not knowing how long I will be staying in the classroom, I want to have a
good foothold in library “lingo” before I get started! School Library Journal
