Lesson Plans

Arts Edge: Lessons

This site is run by The Kennedy Center. It contains lesson plans for all ages. A search for visual arts revealed 225 lesson plans for all grades. Most lessons are integrated into other subjects such as social studies, foreign language, math, science and P.E. Plans include documentation of targeted standards, student handouts and assessment rubrics. These are very tight, professional plans which makes this a powerful resource. Date visited 3/21/06.

LessonPlansPage.com

On this site, I found hundreds of art lesson plans. The site has organized the lessons according to student grades: PreK-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, middle school, high school and multiple/other. Lesson plans are further broken down into categories such as Art/Art History, Collage, Crafts, Sculpture, Drawing, Painting, Prints, etc. There were also categories of lesson plans connecting to Science, Social Studies and Language Arts and Music.

The lesson plans on this site were submitted by teachers and vary greatly in their format and usefulness. Also, these are text-based, no student samples or worksheets. Date visited 3/22/06.
