Resources for Physical Education Teachers and Professionals
PE Links 4 U   - A web site sponsored by NASPE to provide physical education professionals with up to date information and resources to promote physically active lifestyles.  Links are included for elementary pe, secondary pe, adapted pe, coaching, health, nutrition and fitness, and technology in physical education.  Includes ideas for lessons, classroom management, and professional development.

PE Central - A great resource for physical education lesson plans, assessment, professional information, and article bibliographies.  A web site created for and by PE teachers.  You can submit your own lesson plans and ideas to be considered for the web site.  Provides links to many other resources as well.

National Standards for Physical Education - Lists the six criteria of a physically educated person as stated in the National Standards for Physical Education.  Also states the purpose of the standards.  Site is maintained by AAHPERD.

The President's Council on Fitness and Sport  - Provides information about the organization's physical activity/awards program for students. Teachers can use this program to help motivate students become more active and more knowledgeable about the importance of physical activity.  This site also contains links to the President Council most recent reports, the council's newsletter, and 8 publications designed to motivate people to become more active.

Health and Fitness
Fitness Jumpsite - In formation about eating right and staying healthy.  This site provides information about managing weight, nutrition, fitness equipment, and even an activity calorie calculator.  This site has a variety of tips and tools to help people get and stay healthy and active.

Shape Up America  - An information site about how to get in shape and maintain body weight.  The site contains links to a "Body Fat" which describes how body composition changes throughout life and provides descriptions of the ways in which body composition may be measured.  Also has a link which gives the estimated body compositions of former president's of the U.S..  Other links include tips to maintain weight, the importance of 10,000 daily steps, and links to good nutrition quizzes..

Healthy Heart  - A web site sponsored by an international group with the purpose of promoting healthy living through increasing activity, eating properly, and abstaining from the use of tobacco products, drugs, and alcohol.  This site provides information about healthy living for the whole family.  Information is sorted by age group and program type.  Be sure to check out the monthly newsletter.

Girls Health and Sports
Go Girl Go! - A site dedicated to girls to help them feel good about themselves and to motivate them to become more physically active and get involved in sports.  This interactive site provides inspirational and informative stories about top female athletes and how they deal with problems.  The site also contains links for games, a message board, information about sports, including videos to help technique, and a link about how getting involved gets you healthier.
