Introduction:

          Point of view is the position that the narrator of the story takes.  By looking at stories from points of view of different characters, we are able to look at different aspects of the story. Today you will read The Little Red Riding Hood; first from Little Red Riding Hood’s point of view and then from the wolf’s point of view.  You will record facts about the stories on the chart listed below and you will examine the stories for similarities and differences.

Activity:

          Print out the chart located HERE.  You will use it to record facts about elements in the story and about similarities and conclusions. Read the two stories listed below and complete the chart.

Follow-up:

Now that you have a better understand of point of view, you will use this skill in writing workshop.  Choose a fairytale and rewrite it from the villain’s point of view in your writing notebook.  If you need help choosing a story, please see me for suggestions.  You will have the rest of the week to write, revise, and edit your story.
