Introduction Activity Sources Follow-Up
Today you will
research your local NBA (basketball) team, the Washington Wizards! You will use the statistics chart to gather
information about the basketball season.
You will also take a brief look at Michael Jordan since it is his last
year in professional basketball. You
will also calculate how much it would cost for your entire family to attend a
game and what time you would have to leave your house.

You will watch what I do on the big screen and follow me on your
computer to finish this activity.
1.
The first thing that you need to do is print the list of
questions by clicking here and
then clicking on the print button. In
order to save time, I may print these out for you before class. Wait for my instructions.
2.
Next, you will visit the Washington Wizards Statistics Chart by
clicking here.
3.
Answer questions 1, 2, 3, and 4 on your sheet.

Next, click on

Next, click on the TIX symbol shown next to the name of the opponent for the next
home game. This will take you to the Ticketmaster web page.
Answer question 8 by finding the lowest price of a ticket.

Now you will find out how far you live from the

Next click on DRIVING DIRECTIONS by clicking on the car symbol at the top of
the screen.

OK, pay attention here.
This part is a little bit tricky, but I know you can do it. Under Start, type

Make sure that you have answered all of the questions that have
a ball next to them and that you have collected your statistics chart from the
printer.
10.
Logoff on the computer and quietly line up to go back to
class.

Once in class, complete the
rest of the questions using your chart and calculators. If you need help, raise
your hand and I will come around. Turn in your Basketball Questions paper once
