The Biology Corner- {from site} The Lesson Plans section contains classroom activities, labs and worksheets. The worksheets are intended for older students, preferably middle school age. There is a huge variety of science topics covered on the site and available in worksheet form to print out. One of my favorites on the site was about natural selection. The Science Spot- This site contains lesson plan ideas, worksheets for different areas of science, trivia questions, group and club projects, puzzles and crosswords, nature facts and an area where teachers can share different ideas for lesson plans. For my 7th grade students, I would go with this activity about fungus:

Middle School Science- This site features a listing of activities and lesson plans for middle school teachers that focus on science. Some of the sub-categories include physics, chemistry, earth sciences and life sciences. There is a focus on astronomy and constellations which includes many great activities. Mt. Saint Helen Worksheet- These activities are designed to show succession where a volcano has erupted. Students get to see the succession from several points of view: human, biologic and geologic. The activities are designed for grades 4-8 with more challenging activity links for grades 9-12. The Curriculum Archive- This site offers lesson plans and worksheets for many grade levels and subjects. It has rating from teachers that have used the plans so that you can see how well they go over with kids. All of these activities are posted by the teachers that have designed them. This is one on density for grades 5-8. Hurricane Strike!- This site focuses on middle school students. It teaches them about hurricanes past and present. You can learn about historically destructive storms and do interactive activities on the web. Kids will enjoy it because it is designed like a video game. Printable worksheets are available at: http://meted.ucar.edu/hurrican/strike/index.htm Click on a hurricane to study and a link to the PDF version of the worksheets will appear.

 

Discovery Channel- A site to be used in conjunction with the TV programs shown on cable. The site has tons of worksheets “to go” and a worksheet generator that you can use for free. There are many topics to choose from for many grade levels.
