Introduction

It’s the first week of school and you’re frantically composing a seating chart, searching for last year’s bathroom log, creating a new homework collection sheet, writing up 90 welcome back letters to parents, designing a new student information form, hopelessly looking for your student award certificates…STOP!  You don’t need to reinvent the wheel!  There are a multitude of teacher templates ready and waiting for you on the Web.  You will never again have to write and create these useful tools for instruction and classroom management.  You can simply find and use these templates, customize them to fit your classroom needs, and viola!  Isn’t that so much easier?

Visit the sites provided by the links below and review the kinds, quality, level, and variety of the material available.

Using your favorite search engine develop a query that will find links to template sites that will help you with instruction and/or classroom management.

Education World- this is a great jumping off point!  Education World provides you with links to 24+ template sites that address a variety of classroom needs.  They’ve annotated each link to assist you in finding the template(s) that are best for you. http://www.education-world.com/a_tech/tech101.shtml

Brainy Betty- this site offers a variety of free teacher templates including free software, free printable posters, and free PowerPoint templates.  http://www.brainybetty.com/educators1.htm

Desktop Publishing- this site provides free templates for a variety of classroom needs including back to school, lesson plan templates, evaluation forms, class records, teacher checklists, music class, certificates, manuals, booklets, etc.   http://desktoppub.miningco.com/cs/templatesteachers/

Templates for Teachers- this site provides links to 17 different teacher template resources.  The templates include a variety of classroom management/instructional needs.  Also, check out the game templates including Jeopardy! http://www.techteachers.com/templates.htm

 

Assignment

Create a list of 10 sites that provide useful templates for instruction or classroom management.  The links need to go directly to the level on the site where the best material for your needs is located.  The list should include listings by category, a brief note about what is available on the link and a visible URL.  Post the file to your web site and place a link on your index page.
