Print a copy of the questions and then click on the map of the United States for an interactive guide that will aid you in identifying the various states, their respective capitals, as well as certain other geographic features. Please put your answers on a separate piece of paper.

Questions About Where You Live

1) Find the State of Maryland. What is its capital?

2) Maryland is surrounded by four states. What are their names?

3) The United States is surrounded by two countries and three large bodies of water. Name

all five as well as the capitals of each country.

4) In the north-central part of the country, there are five lakes known as the Great Lakes.

What are their names?

5) There are 48 contiguous states (meaning they share a border with another state.) What

are the two non-contiguous states?
