Ten Great Collaboration Projects In Art
This is a wonderful
international peace project based on Martin Luther King’s vision of ‘I have a
dream…’ A Canadian LEARN project, it is
accepting writing and artwork based on the principles of peace from around the
world. Nice site that is easy to
navigate and submit. It is for children
of all ages.

This is an
excellent project for pre-k thru the first grades, or those who are learning to
read. Children are asked to use
different media to create a picture of what their typical day is about in the
hope of sharing it across cultures. Text
is added in English or their native language.

This is a
really wonderful project that requires the full and intense participation of
both teachers and students. In a forum
discussion, they first examine serious questions regarding their life, like
where they live, to their rights and place in society, to their roots and
families. This is then shared online and
dialogue across cultures occurs.
Artistic traditons, as well as other
curriculum areas are covered as students find their place in life.

This is a
beautiful and well developed site and project.
It is designed for middle school age kids to participate in. They will view profound photographic images
and discuss and participate in activities that examine how that image impacts
society and those who view it. By
posting their own photography and writing they will discover their own voice and
the power of social change.

This is a
very nice site for younger kids to share their drawings and languages. Students submit a drawing illustrating a
letter in their alphabet, submit it, and share it internationally. Other participants write emails about them,
creating an international correspondence.

Join your
voice to those around the world in a collaborative modern art installation
piece. Your image/message will be laser beamed

This is a
lovely project for all ages which introduces you to the concept of African
prayer amulets in modern tradition.
Students create a very personal decorative satchet
and submit it to the program. The
project is international in scope and all the submissions join a continuing
exhibit at major museums.

This is not
an easy site to navigate, but it is a project that is a valuable resource for
really engaging high school level students in real ‘aesthetic’ exercises. The project has multiple levels of projects
which are designed to challenge students seeing skills and art dialogue.

Another Kidspace project, this asks for illustrations of idiomatic
expressions from around the world. These
are posted, shared, and commented on by participants. This is designed for older students and
requires higher level thinking skills and creativity.

Self-portraits
are an extremely important tool in self-discovery. The goal of this project is for high school
students to share their portraits with others in creating a dialogue of how we
are all unique and yet so closely related.
The student first creates a self-portrait which reflects who they are or
would like to be and then has the courage to share that vision with the world.
