Below are the “Best of Search Engines” 2009. These search engines were put to the test and the results are in.
Best General Search Engines:
1) Google – http://www.google.com
The Google search engine blows the other search engines out of the water, and is by far one of my personal favorites within the past few years. It is very well known and is the most used of all search engines, having billions of users. Information is quick and the page can be easily navigated for students and adults. The results are clear, well organized, and highly ranked.
2) Yahoo - http://www.yahoo.com
I find Yahoo search engine to also be very valuable with many different features. Unlike Google, Yahoo has many small advertisements and small categories where all you need to do is set your mouse above the icon and the information pops up, without clicking; but if additional information is needed you may click the icon. One can move along the page for quick, easy, valuable, and reliable information.
Best News Search Engines:
1) Yahoo - http://news.yahoo.com
This site offers instant real time updates for yahoo members, top stories, news alerts, weather alerts, photo highlights, local news, world news, most popular, most viewed, and most recommended. This site is easy to use and easily navigated for quick news updates.
2) Google - http://news.google.com/nwshp?hl=en&tab=wn
It is amazing what can be done on Google News to get the most current and personalized information. You chose the version you want to view the news – by text, standard, imaging, or you tube. This site also has alerts the user can receive and up to date news you can count on!
Best Image Search Engines:
Yahoo - http://images.search.yahoo.com
Google - http://images.google.com/imghp?hl=en&tab=wi
Altavista - http://www.altavista.com/image/default
All of these search engines provided the best variety of images and almost unlimited possibilities. They are all easy to use and quick to the image. One can even pick the size, color, and type of the image! It was tough to decide which search engine is the best, when all search engines gave great and almost endless image choices. One couldn’t go wrong searching for an image on any of the above sites.
