Introduction: The World Wide Web and technology are ever changing and evolving into new and better things every minute of every day. Staying connected to the world is what technology and the internet has offered students and teachers of today. In today’s internet world it is facing an increase in user’s each day with explosions of documents and emails that technology just can’t keep up with. Google APPS is one of the newest technologies that allows one to be more productive and stay connected with the world. Google Apps can be used for business, education, and personal use.

Again this assignment will help you learn and understand one of the newest technologies available to businesses, schools, and the average person. Google Apps operates at a much larger scale then other applications and it can be very beneficial and worth the effort to collaborate with others at “real time.” Google Apps is accessible from any internet connection and can be easily navigated for quick and easy use.

* Listen to the voice tutorial and become familiar with all of the Google applications.

Step Two - Visit the sites below and continue to learn and explore what Google Apps has to offer.

Google Apps: Learn about the applications offered for businesses, schools, personal use, and much more.

About.com: This site gives review of Google Apps for your domain. There is information on what Google Apps have to offer, how to get started, the competitors, and reviews of each application.

Google Apps Wikipedia: Explore the history of Google Apps.

Assignment: Choose your top Google App and create a handout for that application. The handout must include the top five (5) reasons why this application is beneficial and why it should be used in within the education system. In the handout also include two (2) of the best/informational sites that you researched, annotate the citation with a two or three sentences explaining why you chose the sites, and create a working hyperlink to each site. The handout should also give an overview of how the application works and the benefits of the application.

Submission: Post your activities as an html file to your FTP folder, create a link to the file on your index page, and send your instructor an email notification containing a working hyperlink to the assignment (not to your index page) and the assignment file's URL. Make sure the subject line of your email is in the following format: SLM521-lastname- Google Apps – assignment.
