Web Module #2

Author Websites

Objective: Teachers demonstrate introductory knowledge, skills and understanding of concepts related to technology.

Introduction: As a media specialist, it is extremely important to know about the authors of the books that you buy for your media center. Students love to learn about the real people who write about all their favorite characters and stories. So many authors of today’s children’s books have devoted some of their time to arranging their own websites to bring their readers closer to their work and their lives.

Activity: Browse author websites. Choose authors that write for the age ranges of your students. Search through each site keeping in mind how you would use them in the future.

Below are a few indexes that list many children’s authors. Search through and find some that you could use.
