Do
You Know…?
Biographies are the stories of real people’s lives. We’ve read biographies of various people from history including Abraham Lincoln, Susan B. Anthony, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Now it’s your turn to find out about someone you’re interested in. You will do some research using the link below and complete a chart to share with your classroom. Then we’ll all know!
Before you
go to the Biography Dictionary, http://s9.com/biography/, think about who you’d
be interested in learning about. It
could be a sports star, a politician, an artist, an actor, or anyone else from
history. If you’re not sure of a
specific person, think about the things you’re interested in. Maybe you’d like to find out about someone
in medicine, fashion, or business. List
three ideas below.
1.
2.
3.
Now, click on the link.
Try your three ideas by clicking on the Search the Dictionary
graphic. If you get stuck, use the
ideas link on the site. Take notes
about your choice in your journal.
Now, print out a copy of the timeline
and complete it using your notes and referring back to the Biography Dictionary
if necessary. Don’t forget to fill in
the connection statements at the bottom.
You will be responsible for presenting this information to the class at
a later point.
