~ create a warm and welcoming environment for the whole of the school community
~ become familiar with the school community in order to select books of interest and relevance to its members
~ provide a diverse and current collection of quality materials that support curriculum needs
~ collaborate with teachers to meet the literacy needs of each student
~ provide instructional and meaningful lessons and activities that meet information literacy outcomes as well as develop a love of reading
