Place value is an important lesson for you to understand.  It is the foundation for all mathematical procedures.

We use place value without thinking about it everyday, most commonly, when dealing with money.  Cents are in the tenths and hundredths place.  Dollars begin at the unit place and can extend well beyond the millions place.

Go to the following website and learn a little more about place value with this exciting activity.  When you are finished with this activity read on.
