Pornography

The following poster will be placed in Mrs. Jaramillo’s high school classroom where each student has a personal school account, which is frequently monitored by the computer specialist:

As we will be incorporating technology into the class, there are several important guidelines for you to follow:

  1. Remember that your account is monitored and you are responsible for any information in your account.  DO NOT give others your password or access to your account!

  1. In order to avoid accidentally logging onto pornographic sites, please use search engines and type in key words.  Google, AskJeeves, and AskMama are all recommended.  If you use reputable search engines, you will be given a list of related sites with a brief description of each.  This will allow you to avoid any controversial sites.

  1. If you accidentally access a pornographic site, quickly close out of any windows by simply clicking on the X at the top right part of the screen – DO NOT click on any icon on the site, this may take you farther into the site.

  1. After clicking out of each window and/or if you are unable to close the windows, LOG OFF.  Otherwise, you will continually receive pop-up ads for other inappropriate sites.  You may need to go to the extent of restarting the computer, just to be sure that no more ads appear.

  1. Immediately inform the teacher and the computer technician.  Your accounts are frequently monitored and you do not want to be accused of voluntarily accessing pornographic sites.

After reading the assignment and visiting the given sites that have been purchased by pornographic sellers, I had to log off my computer.  Not only were pornographic and suggestive ads appearing, gambling and other questionable ads began to pop-up.
