Enchanted
learning is a great site for activities and worksheets. I use this site a lot to get information for
my students on animals and life cycles.
One of my favorite parts of this site is the label me printouts. This part of the site helps students label
animal parts and life cycles. This is
great for second grades life cycle unit.

Learning
Page.com is member only site. It is
free to become a member. I found the
themes part very helpful. There are a
few themes. I would use the space theme
for second grade. The space theme has
fact sheets for each planet. There are
also fun sheets. Once you are on the
fun sheet site, it lets you go to activities for your grade. There are also activities in math, language
arts, and science that match with the theme.
There are other parts to the theme unit.

Language
Arts:
Second
graders have a hard time with capitalization rules. This site has a very interesting way to make worksheets. It allows a person to pick what skills they
want on the worksheet. There are a lot
of capitalization skills to pick from.
You can also pick the grades and include your own sentences to use on
the worksheet. This feature is better
for 3-5th grade. There are
also worksheets on capitalization rules for younger students.

vowels. The worksheet range from color
the sound to sorting words. There are
also endings word searches. I really
like how there is such a varity of types of worksheets for the same skill.

This
site helps teachers make rubrics for students.
First you have to pick a category to make a rubric for. Then you can
make a rubric. The rubric helper gives
categories to chose from that the teacher can use to grade the students. It then gives what a 4,3,2,1 criteria should
be. You can change the criteria if you
are looking for something else. You can
print out the rubric but you can not save it if you are not a member.

This
site has printable books to use with students.
There are 30 free book to print.
There are little books to use with students. These books come with the level of the book. It also includes a lesson plan to use with
the book. The lesson plan has a word
play aspect and a reading strategy aspect.
There is also a follow up worksheet to go along with the book. There are also read aloud books. This is a great site if you pay for the
membership. There are tons of books. I like using these books with my students
because they can write and highlight in the book.

Math:
Addition and
Subtraction Worksheets:
This
site has a good amount of addition and subtraction worksheets. The worksheets are broken up into
levels. The first level being the
easiest and level 13 being the hardest.
The levels include greater than and less than, adding 2 and 3 digits,
and multiplication. There are also
lists for first and third grade. The
worksheets only have one picture on it so the graphics do not distract the
students from the problems.

This
site has a lot of math worksheets in a lot of categories. The categories include addition,
subtraction, division, fractions, time, measurement, money, and etc. Once you pick a category, there are a lot of
different worksheets to pick from. The
one bad part about this site is that you have to look through each worksheet in
the category. There is no description
along with the worksheet.

In
second grade, students need to be able to do 50 math problems in 6
minutes. This site has a lot of math
worksheets with 30 problems. There are
1,2,3, and 4 digit addition and subtraction.
Teachers could give these worksheets to practice timed tests. There are also a small number of other math
worksheets for teachers.
