This page provides a
list of various different websites that maybe helpful to art students and art
teacher. This includes places to
post your art, college resources, career advice, and sites to help break up
artists block.
Online ArtistsŐ Communities
Deviant Art: This page allows artists to post and
sell their works in a secure environment.
Artist can also submit their works fro critiques and critique others
work. Membership is free. Works are clearly organized by media,
and includes a craft section. The

Foundmyself.com: This site is a free artistŐs community
where artists can post and sell their works. It operates on the honor system and artists handle all
transactions with their buyers.
The site also includes a forum where you can post critiques or just chat
with other artists. Focuses on the

Etsy: This site focuses on
selling handmade art such as clothing, jewelry and ceramics. There is also a section for traditional
arts. Artists can form teams with
other users by location, interest or media to help promote each other. The site also offers a discussion
forum, tutorials and resources to help you sell your art. They also have a

Empty Easel: This site is
more like a blog. It is updated
weekly with articles and tutorials.
The articles review other artist communities and which sites are best to
use to buy and sell art. You can

Wet Canvas: This is another
site where artists can post their work and get critiques from other
artists. It is free, but donations
are encouraged. Payment is
required if you wish to create a website through this site. This site is unique because it offers
several tutorials and lessons on things like color theory classic techniques.

Career Advice and Resources
Artist Resource: This site
gives straightforward advice on careers for the multimedia artist, specifically
graphic designers, illustrators, and other digital artists. It gives an overview of salaries,
description of careers and duties and tips for interviewing and creating
portfolios. Also has several links
to other sites listing jobs or calls for entries.

offers many articles on many different subjects. All articles focus on different aspects of promoting your

This site offers a variety of articles on starting a career as an artist

offers a variety of art supplies at great discounts. Materials are listed alphabetically,

Cheap JoeŐs Art Stuff: This
site not only offers art supplies at good discounts but also includes a
description of the material and any terms associated with it. This site is definitely more directed
at those new to art. It offers

Rex Art: This is yet
another site that sells art supplies.
It is not a cheap as Dick Blick but it is easy to use and offers many

Inspiration
Art Inspiration: This site
contains several links to articles.
It focuses on helping artists get over their creative blocks. It has links to project ideas for
adults and children and many activities designed to increase creativity. They also have links to several sites

Being an Artist: This site
is a fun website designed to increase your creativity. The author offers several thoughts on
creativity and activities to increase creativity. Much of the site is very silly and colorful, designed to
remind you of what it was like when you were you and your imagination ran wild.
It also includes activities designed to improve drawing ability. There is a section on creative fun
stuff, which allows you to just be silly and creative (such as creating your

offers a list of websites that have reference images for artists. Most artists like to work from an image
