Newsletters

Newsletters are a great educational resource.  The two publications I chose are full of useful tips with links to additional curriculum resources.

I subscribed to several newsletters but my favorite is the Educational Cyber Playground. This monthly newsletter is divided into sections of interest such as teachers, music, arts etc. Each section contains articles relating to that subject. The teacher section contains a wide range articles on subjects from new teacher tips to retention. Each section features links to other web sites for additional information. The newsletter has a search function that allows you to look for past issues. I found this newsletter to be very useful. In fact, I found several good sites while searching its technology pages.

My second choice is the eSchool News. This is a weekly publication but it sends out daily news updates. Each issue is full of educational technology news. The articles are well written and easy to read. There are ads on each page but they are colorful without being flashy or distracting. Each article has links to useful web sites for more information about the subject.  The teacher resource section is divided into sections showing different ways to use technology in the classroom. It highlights topics such digital content, tech tutoring and electronic records management. The newsletter also contains hardware and software product reviews.
