WEB DROP-IN 5--------SIGN LANGUAGE

Let's look at greetings in another language! American Sign Language, known as ASL, is the most common language used by deaf and hard of hearing people in the United States and Canada. ASL uses handshapes to represent concepts, rather than a word by word translation, and has its own sentence structure. Some highschools are beginning to offer credit for learning sign language as they already do for Spanish or French, etc.

Go to http://www.lifeprint.com and click on 'phrases'.

Examine the signs in the box and watch the video that will appear. Using the boxes below, or on your own paper, draw the handshapes needed to sign each phrase.
