During this activity we will be learning about the life cycle of a rock. Study this diagram of the life cycle of the rock.

After studying the diagram view the following website, http://www.cotf.edu/ete/modules/msese/earthsysflr/rock.html,

to gain more information about the life cycle of a rock.

Once you have completed both activities answer the following questions.

1. What is needed for igneous rock to change to metamorphic rock?
2. Where does the heat come from that changes a rock’s form?
3. Can metamorphic rock change to sediment? If yes, what is needed to make that change?
4. Does a rock’s life cycle ever end?
5. Describe a possible life cycle of a rock. Be sure to explain what actions occurred to change the rock’s form.
