Polar Bears

In this unit, we are learning about different types of mammals. Polar bears are interesting animals and are very similar to some other mammals we have already talked about. Visit this website to learn more about Polar bears and use your KWL chart to note any thoughts are new learning that takes place.

Before you start, on your KWL chart write down anything that you already know about polar bears in the K column. You may have seen polar bears on a visit to the zoo or in a movie on television. What do they look like? Where do they live?

What else would you like to know about polar bears? Write this in the W column. What is it that you’d like to learn about polar bears that you don’t know already.

Now, you are ready to visit this site. Read the information that is on this website and as you come to something new that you didn’t know before about polar bears mark it down in your L column of your KWL chart. When you are finished we will share our new findings with the class.
