Forest WebQuest.
A Jungle
Journey: Rainforests in Jeopardy-
This
WebQuest, designed
for upper elementary or middle school children, assigns a different set
of
tasks for 6 teams. Each team is to complete their specific tasks and
create a
presentation to share with the class.

Keep Your Eye
on the Rainforest-
Students
will
learn about the structure (layers) of the rain forest. In addition,
they will
research one plant and one animal indigenous to the region. The
culminating
activity has students creating a flip book about their research
subjects.

The Fate of the
Rainforests- This WebQuest
examines the role economics
has played in the deforestation of tropical rainforests. Students
investigate a
wide variety of factors including government agencies, the logging
industry,
the medical community, the indigenous people, and environmentalists.

Dr. Green’s
Rainforest Mystery-
Third
grade students will work in teams of three to identify a mystery animal
and
research it thoroughly. Each team member has a specific role to
fulfill;
zoologist, dietician, or geographer.

Students
will examine the pros and cons of instituting ecotourism as an
alternative to
logging in the rainforest. After completing individual research, group
members
must come together to discuss their findings and determine their stance
