Teacher Created Web Sites

Below are the two web sites I looked at. Both were done well, it was tuff to find recommendations for them.

  1. Dr. Kaplan’s Page – On this page I would give the following

Commendations:

  1. He has a nice mix of information and pictures/color/art on the first page not to overwhelm you with anything in particular.
  2. b) He gives his contact information AND it is updated!

  3. There is a ton of information on the page for you. (If you are taking his classes)

Recommendations:

  1. Even though his page does not overwhelm you with too much pictures/color/art. He could use some more of it to visually help his many pages.
  2. He could use some links to other web pages for resource options. Or some links for finding help on how to work various math problems.
  3. The site could benefit from a search feature to help quickly find what you are looking for.

  1. The Teachers Aide – On this page I would give the following

Commendations:

  1. There is quite a bit of information on the page.
  2. This page has a side bar for navigation purposes. Also on the side it periodically has links to send you to the top of the page where there is a side bar for links.
  3. It is nice they have an automatic e-mail location in the side navigation bar to contact them should you have any comments or questions.

Recommendations:

  1. There is just too much text on this page! He needs to break up all the text on this page. Either with some pictures or put the information on other page links.
  2. This page would benefit from a greater flow of information. It is very difficult to figure out where to go next.
  3. He has a ton of links for this page to other pages. However, I am finding a lot of dead links on the page. That tends to not want me to come back again. It looks like they won their blue ribbon for a web page and stopped working on the page!
