Free yourself from time spent planning at your desk!
Use the following web sites to find
ready-made, quality lesson plans!
Using Google and Teoma search engines, I researched web sites that
provide math lesson plans for grades 3-6. My queries included
"math lesson plans" and "lesson plans for math". I then further
investigated the lesson plans provided by searching for particular
lesson plans within the web site. Mostly, I looked at lesson plans for
teaching integers, but I noted the extent of math topics and lessons
covered at each site.
The following listed sites are those that I found to be the most
helpful, best organized, and easiest to use, respectively.
1.
The Math Forum @ Drexel - This
is an extremely helpful web site. It is clearly organized by topic and
grade level. One is able to search for lesson plans easily by keyword.
The math topics are extensive and the lesson plans are well written,
detailed, and useful.

2.
LessonPlansPage.com - You can
search by keyword or grade level, and then view lesson plans that are
organized by topic. This web site has a large collection of useful math
lessons. A wonderful feature of this web site is the many integrated
curriculum lesson plans that teach math in the areas of art, music,
language arts, science, social studies, computer, and physical
education/health.

3.
Teachers.Net - There are 381
math lessons listed in this site's lesson bank. The list is easy to
scroll through; lessons are listed in clusters of 5 and described by
title, grade level, and author. The lessons are clearly organized, easy
to follow, useful.

4.
Education World - This site
advertises itself as "The Educator's Best Friend." I refer to this site
over and over again for all sorts of topics and resources. I appreciate
the quality of all entries at this site; this makes up for a less
clearly organized index for finding math lesson plans, but useful,
great quality ones nonetheless.

5.
SMILE - Illinois Institute of
Technology hosts this web site which contains almost 200 math lesson
plans. The lessons are organized by topic. Each title is accompanied by
its author's name and school, so it is easy to decipher what is its
appropriate grade level.
