Writing Trait #3 – Voice

INTRODUCTION:

Each writer uses words in a way that allows readers to ÒhearÓ the authorÕs unique voice. Voice is what lets readers know that the words come from a particular author. The authorÕs personality will shine through the words of the text through voice in a way only that author can!

INFORMATION:

Check out the rubric for voice at: http://www.nwrel.org/assessment/toolkit98/traits/index.html#Voice

Be sure you understand the differences for scoring writing samples for Voice.
