Introduction - Internet chat rooms are a great place to meet people, find love, and discover new friendships without even leaving your home. The best part is that you can do it at anytime, day or night, and their will always be someone online. Before you embark on your journey into the wonderful world of Internet chatting you will have to register with a free interactive site, such as http://chat.yahoo.com/ or http://chat.msn.com/. Next, login with your anonymous screen name and password to access the great Internet abyss, where there is a chat room for every person and every interest.

As future educators, we can see that chat rooms could be used as an educational tool to expand the horizons and experiences of our students. However, there are several dangers that students must be informed of in order to keep them safe in Internet chat rooms.
